Clinton’s Priorities

Overview

CLINTON ROOSEVELT DALE has an extensive knowledge of federal government processes and policies, as a former IRS agent and a current successful small businessman and tax advocate. He understands societal and equity issues, as a Black man growing up in a lower income urban environment, and working hard to make a good life for his family. He understands the Colorado way of life, and our Colorado values.

The current politicians in the US Senate haven’t accomplished much for Colorado families and small businesses.  Lobbyists and special interest groups seem to do well, and have plenty of access, but regular Coloradoans only get platitudes and attacks on the other party. It’s time to change. A citizen Senator is desperately needed in Colorado to keep Colorado values front and center, and to LISTEN to Colorado families and small businesses. Clinton Roosevelt Dale will work with all parties in Congress, with all local and state officials in Colorado, and with all Coloradoans, regardless of party affiliation or belief, to come to consensus about how to better our lives here in Colorado and the U.S.

Priority #1: Crime

Crime has always gone through cycles of crime waves, and the traditional response to the wave was always to put more police on the streets. Now we are facing an unprecedented situation of a labor shortage as well.

Coloradoans deserve our best efforts on a state and federal level to address these issues, and to deal with the gun violence in our streets and in our schools.

The police need to repair bridges with the community and develop strategies to deal with the mental health crises in our streets. They should also create relationships with higher education as far as communicating their needs and wants to students in criminal justice degrees, creating new programs for training for academic and internships, to recruit new talent and train current officers in community engagement.

We also need to make changes which should be a blend of some old solutions and new tech. Using some previous tactics like citizens’ patrols and volunteers and incentives for existing officers to stay on the job longer, combined with using different tech for crime identification and catching criminals. We’ll also need to change many laws to make them tougher and with longer sentencing.

Priority #2: Women’s Rights

Clinton is a husband and the father of two beautiful daughters. He is passionate about the issues that face women everywhere as well as empowering women. He believes in full abortion and reproductive rights for women, and has lived that passion. Clinton created a nonprofit foundation, the Blue Bear Foundation, that helps minority and veteran women in many ways, like tutoring them about accounting and personal finance, but especially in protecting and preserving the exercise of their reproductive rights.

Priority #3: The Economy

The pandemic changed everything in our country. The economy can no longer be determined by old traditional methods of viability. The old definition of a recession is no longer valid, two consecutive quarters of negative growth is no longer true. I believe we must look to academia for a more suitable interpretation of our economic status. Our current conditions are improving, although in Colorado we tend to take a micro out on the economy. We are obliviously dictated by a more macro outlook of the entire country, that is why we must deal with the constant rate hikes that make sense to very few. Our employment rate remains low. Business closures exceeded openings during the first half of the year. More businesses closed than opened during the previous Great Recession as well, but it took a year from the start of the recession for the openings to bounce back and surpass closing. I do not believe those conditions apply to this situation.

Colorado is on the right track, but we need to make sure that small businesses have the freedom to grow, by making sure taxes and regulations are common sense and not burdensome. And we need to make sure that Colorado families are not left behind, by making sure housing is available and affordable, and we are doing everything possible to curb inflation.
